Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will gain an understanding of the role that reserves and missions played in the treatment of First Nations people in Australian history. They will develop an awareness of the impact of colonisation by Europeans on First Nations Australians such as the removal from land, and relocation to “protectorates”, reserves and missions. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, research, and watching options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
