In this lesson, students will examine the cultures and spiritual beliefs of Indigenous Australians and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the tens of thousands of years before European arrival. They will explore how different nations adapted to Australia's varied environments, maintained social structures through kinship and reciprocity, and preserved their knowledge across generations through the Dreamtime and ceremony. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, including reading, source analysis, and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
