Wars of the Roses lesson

Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will examine how a long-running dispute over the English throne led to decades of civil war, and explore the key figures, battles, and political decisions that determined the outcome of the conflict. They will also consider how the Tudor dynasty brought the wars to a close and worked to prevent a similar conflict from breaking out again. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, source analysis, and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
