Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will examine the major civilisations that developed in Peru before the rise of the Inca, including the Caral, Chavín, Nazca, Moche, Wari, and Tiwanaku cultures. They will explore how each culture contributed to the religious, artistic, and political traditions that the Inca later drew upon to build the largest empire in pre-Columbian America. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
