In this lesson, students will examine the different types of warriors that made up a medieval army and explore how each type contributed to the overall tactics and outcomes of battle. They will also investigate the brutal physical and psychological experience of fighting in a medieval battle, from the tension of the preparations beforehand to the grim aftermath when the fighting was done. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, including reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
