Learning objectives

In this lesson, will learn how historians measure time using systems such as BC, AD, BCE, and CE, and how dates are organised when years move backwards and forwards. They will also learn how decades, centuries, millennia, and historical periods are calculated and named so events can be placed accurately in time. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, source analysis, research and watching options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
