Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will explore the rich history and cultural practices of the First Nations Australians, delving into their unique social structures, kinship groups, and the significance of totems and moieties. They'll also learn about the continuity and evolution of these traditions over time, from ancient burial customs to land tenure systems and trade practices. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
