In this lesson, students will examine how the Soviet Union was transformed between 1917 and 1939, from the Bolshevik Revolution through to the eve of the Second World War. They will explore the consequences of Stalin's industrialisation drive, the terror of the Great Purge, and the diplomatic calculations that led to the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, research, and video watching options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
