In this lesson, students will examine how air warfare developed during World War One and explore the effects these developments had on military operations and civilian life. They will investigate the careers of celebrated ace pilots, including Manfred von Richthofen, and consider how governments used aviation to influence public attitudes toward the war. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, source analysis, and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
