Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will gain a chronological understanding of the development of the textile industry during the Industrial Revolution. They will develop an awareness of the development of the factory system, the development of the steam engine, and the growth of cities as people moved to the cities to find employment. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading or research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
