Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will gain an understanding of the home front in Australia during World War One. They will develop an awareness of the effects of World War I on Australian society such as the role of women, political debates about conscription, relationships with the British Empire, and the experiences of returned soldiers. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and video watching options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities.
