In this lesson, students will examine the planning and execution of the 1915 Gallipoli campaign and explore why a series of strategic and tactical errors led to one of the most costly failures of World War One. They will investigate how the decision to attack the Ottoman Empire, the failure of the naval bombardment, and the poorly executed land invasion created a military disaster that resulted in devastating losses for the Allied forces. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, including reading, source analysis, research, and video watching options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
No personal information is collected through this quiz; only answer responses are recorded.
