Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will learn how Ancient Egyptian society was organised into a strict hierarchy, from the pharaoh and senior officials to craftspeople, peasants, servants, and slaves. Students will also learn what each group did in daily life, how religion and writing supported the state, and what legal rights women could hold compared with other ancient societies. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, source analysis, research and watching options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
