In this lesson, students will examine how ancient Greek civilisation developed from its earliest cultures on Crete through to the conquests of Alexander the Great, focusing on the major periods, key city-states, and the conflicts that defined Greek history. Students will also explore how the Greeks spread their language, ideas, and culture across the Mediterranean world through trade, warfare, and colonisation. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, source analysis, research and watching options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
