Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will learn about the life and military campaigns of Alexander the Great, from his education under Aristotle in Macedon to his conquests across Persia, Egypt, and India. Learners will examine how Alexander's ambition to spread Greek culture and philosophy across his empire influenced the ancient world and inspired future military leaders. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, source analysis, and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
