Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will explore the historical significance and enduring impact of the Aboriginal Tent Embassy, a pivotal movement in the struggle for Indigenous Australian rights and land recognition. They will learn about the events leading up to its establishment in 1972, its evolution as a symbol of protest and resilience, and its role in shaping contemporary discussions on Indigenous justice and recognition in Australia. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
