Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will learn about the historical context and significance of National Sorry Day in Australia, which acknowledges the mistreatment and trauma experienced by the Indigenous Stolen Generations. They will also explore the broader implications of this day, including the Redfern Speech, the Bringing Them Home report, and subsequent efforts towards reconciliation and healing in Australian society. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, research, and watching options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
