In this lesson, students will learn why Napoleon invaded Egypt and how the campaign unfolded through a mix of military victories, scientific research, and eventual defeat. They will examine the reasons for the invasion, the challenges faced by the French, and how Napoleon used the events to increase his political power in France. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
