Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will examine how German planning, speed, and coordinated attacks broke through Allied defences and trapped French and British forces during the 1940 campaign. They will also analyse key events such as the Ardennes advance, the Dunkirk evacuation, and the armistice that led to the rapid collapse of France. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, source analysis, research, and video watching options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
