Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will learn about the main stages of the Battle of Britain, including German invasion plans, RAF defensive systems, and the air campaigns that took place between July and October 1940. They will also examine how radar technology, aircraft design, and pilot experience influenced the outcome of the battle and led to the start of the Blitz. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, source analysis, research, and video watching options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
