In this lesson, students will learn how Viking burial customs revealed their beliefs about the afterlife, social class, and religious change. They will examine archaeological evidence and written sources to understand how funerals were conducted and what they meant to Norse society. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
