Christianisation of Western Europe Lesson

Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will learn how Christianity spread across Western Europe between the 4th and 11th centuries through a combination of missionary activity, royal influence, and military force. They will examine how different regions adopted the religion at different times and for different reasons. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
