In this lesson, students will examine how Britain's Industrial Revolution transformed manufacturing, power production and transport from the mid-18th century onward. They will also explore the key inventors and technologies that drove these changes and consider how improvements in steam power, textile production and infrastructure made Britain the dominant trading nation of its era. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, source analysis, and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
