In this lesson, students will examine the Silk Road as a network of trade routes that connected major civilisations across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe for over a millennium. They will explore the political, economic, and cultural forces that drove its growth and, ultimately, brought about its decline by the end of the 15th century. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading or research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
