Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will learn how the medieval feudal system organised society through a hierarchy based on land ownership, duties, and obligations. They will examine the roles of kings, barons, knights, officials, and peasants, and understand how the manorial system supported daily life in medieval communities. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, including reading, source analysis, research, and watching options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
