In this lesson, students will examine the lives of women and girls in the Aztec Empire, exploring their roles across domestic, economic, religious, and military spheres of Aztec society. They will also investigate how the Spanish Conquest disrupted these established roles and consider the ways in which Aztec women worked to preserve their culture in the face of colonial domination. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, including reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
