Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will learn how the first humans reached Australia, including the routes they travelled, the sea crossings they completed, and the environmental conditions they encountered. They will also learn how early Aboriginal groups spread across the continent and developed ways of living that suited forests, coasts, and deserts, along with the purpose of Dreamtime stories in explaining the world.  Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
