History of Rock'n'roll Lesson
Learning objectives
In this lesson, students will examine the origins and development of rock ’n’ roll music from 1954 to 1969, investigating the key artists and events, along with the locations, that influenced its early sound. They will also explore how the genre changed from upbeat dance music into an expression of the counterculture movement’s values by the end of the 1960s. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
