History of Religious Belief in Australia Lesson

In this lesson, students will examine how religious belief in Australia changed across three centuries, starting with Indigenous spiritual traditions and tracing the impact of Christian and Jewish immigration, as well as later Buddhist and Islamic arrivals. They will also explore the rise of secularism during the twentieth century and consider why a growing number of Australians came to identify with no religion at all. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
