Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will learn about the tumultuous Sengoku Jidai, a period marked by relentless civil war, where powerful daimyo and their samurai armies battled for dominance and the title of shogun in feudal Japan. The lesson will also explore the strategic, political, and military innovations brought forth by the three unifying figures, Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
