Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will explore the diverse roles women occupied in ancient Egyptian society, from household management and religious duties through to property ownership and participation in the legal system. They will examine how factors such as social class, marriage, and access to education determined the degree of power and influence women could exercise in their daily lives. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, including reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
