Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will learn about the transformative impact of World War One on women's roles in society, as they stepped into roles traditionally held by men and contributed significantly to the war effort. They will also explore how these changes led to a reevaluation of gender norms and accelerated the advancement of women's rights, including the expansion of suffrage. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
